The Aquarium of Genoa

The Aquarium of Genoa is the larger aquarium in Italy and the second in Europe. It has become a real cultural and touristic attraction for adults and children. It is located in Ponte Spinola in the renovated area of Genoa’s ancient harbour and it has been opened in October 1992 on the occasion of Columbus celebrations.

Two of the aquarium’s four floors are under the sea level down to 7 metres deep. The whole structure is longer than 250 metres. The Aquarium of Genoa is composed of four big tanks: for seals, sharks, dolphins and coral reef. Each tank is built according to the natural habitat of the species.

The whole visit of the Aquarium of Genoa lasts about 2.30 hours. A few hours to live an unforgettable experience that you can repeat taking advantage of the new events offered by the aquarium.
